Release Date
04 16, 2026On April 15–16, the GEIA Asia 2026 Asia-Pacific Embodied Intelligence & Humanoid Robot Innovation Week was held in Shanghai. As a premier platform focused on embodied intelligence, humanoid robotics, core technology innovation, and industry collaboration, the event brought together a broad range of participants from industry, technology, investment, and application sectors to explore key trends, deployment pathways, and ecosystem opportunities in embodied intelligence and robotics.

Union Image was invited to participate in the conference and was honored with the "X · Pioneer" Award. At the event, Union Image showcased its SerDes Solutions and Depth Camera Series, centered on visual perception requirements for robotics and embodied intelligence applications, engaging with attendees on how vision technology can better serve robot perception, interaction, and spatial understanding.
Embodied Intelligence in Focus: Visual Perception Emerges as a Core Foundational Capability
From an industry perspective, embodied intelligence is advancing from concept to real-world application. Whether in humanoid robots, service robots, mobile robots, or companion robots, any system seeking to operate in complex environments and execute tasks requires continuous perception and understanding of the external world.
Throughout this process, the importance of visual capability continues to grow.
Robots must not only "see" — they must rapidly assess distance, spatial relationships, targets, behaviors, and environmental conditions within dynamic surroundings. In particular, for close-range interaction, indoor navigation, precision manipulation, and obstacle detection, vision systems have become one of the primary inputs driving embodied intelligence.
As a result, the core components and solutions underpinning robotic vision pipelines are attracting increasing attention across the industry.
